Mamelodi Sundowns vs Bidvest Wits Match Ratings: Ritchie flourishes, Vilakazi disappointing 

Mamelodi Sundowns who were looking to get their season going the Absa Premiership failed to collect all three points against top of the log Bidvest Wits at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.

Mamelodi Sundowns walked away a very disappointed side after failing to win the match they desperately needed to win to keep their hopes of climbing up the table alive.

Onyango 6: The Gambian had a good game on the day and denied Bidvest Wits all three points to stretch the lead at the top. Apart from a superb free-kick he conceded from Ritchie, his game was tidy.

Arendse 5.5: The centre back was deputising in the right back position. He struggled to deal with the pace of Wits strikers in the first half.
However made crucial blocks at the back to eny the students maximum points.

Madisha 6: The Bafana Bafana International was pretty tight at the back, using his ability to stretch the passes at the back.

Nascimento 6: Ever so calm at the end back, the Barazilian just like his fellow defenders were beaten on the day by a spectacular goal they could do nothing about.

Langerman 6.5:  The full back gave problems on the right hand side of the Wits defence but the final ball was not good enough.

Maboe 7: Should have a goal in the closing stages but was brilliantly denied by Darren Keet.

Kekana 8: As usual the hard tackling midfielder was giving it all and scored a cracker to give Sundowns the lead. overall his game was tidy.

Mabunda 7: Solid as a rock in the midfield against a rejuvenated midfield of Bidvest.

Sirino 7.5: The Uruguayan was lively on the flanks and assisted Kekana’s goal after a lot of hard work to win the ball.

Vilakazi 7: The former Bidvest man had a couple of chances but failed to capatilize. In the day he was not as good as he normally is.

Silva 6.5: Missed a glorious one on one in the first half after going clear and was only faced with Bidvest goalkeeper Keet.

Keet 6.5: Keet denied Sundowns what would have been a certain goal. The keeper made the save on the edge of the box which had Mosimane livid as it appeared that he might have handled the ball outside the box.

Hlatshwayo 6.5: The Wits captain has led the line of defence. The skipper was again up to the task today as Bidvest came away with a valuable point.

Johannes 6: The former Cape Town City man has settled in well at Wits and has helped the line of defence very much.

Monare 7: His performances have eanerd him a national team call up. He has solidified the Bidvest midfield and today was once again outstanding against experienced Sundowns midfield.

Murray 7: The Bidvest top goal scorer this season is continuing to impress following his arrival at the club this season. Today he was unlucky not to continue with his goal scoring form.

Hlanti 6.5: The left back delivered a few dangerous balls into the Sundowns defence and caused problems.

Mkhwanazi 6.5: Solid as a rock at the back and offered Sundowns little chance of scoring.

Alexander 7: Another player has a been a revelation in the inform Wits team. He and Monare have helped a lot in the Wits midfield this season.

Ritchie 8: A forgotten man due to his limited game time since he joined Wits. However today he made sure his presence is felt on the field with a sublime free-kick which left Onyango [Sundowns goalkeeper] with no chance.

Dzvukamanja 7.5: The Zimbabwean has been outstanding for the clever boys this season. His ability to maneuver the ball in the midfield have been praised this season.

Majoro 5.5: The former Kaizer Chiefs hitman has been short of action this season. Today he was given a nod but hard  little to offer.
